Northern New Mexico Resource Advisory Committee (RAC)

The National Forests in northern New Mexico are looking for a group of 9-15 volunteers to make recommendations on how to allocate federal funds (Title II).  These funds are used to benefit national forest lands on the Carson, Santa Fe, and Cibola National Forests.  Title II money funds local projects to maintain and improve roads, trails, and infrastructure as well; restore, maintain and improve wildlife and fish habitat, control noxious weeds, re-establish native species, and restore streams and watersheds.

The Northern New Mexico RAC is accepting nominations from residents of New Mexico to review projects in Taos, Sandoval, Mora, San Miguel, Rio Arriba, Torrance, McKinley and Cibola counties.  In addition to providing recommendations on how Title II funds are spent, the RAC collaborates closely with state, county, and nonprofit partners.  Members of the Northern New Mexico RAC will represent a variety of interests ranging from organized labor, mining, grazing, and timber interests, national and locally recognized environmental organizations, elected officials, and tribal representatives.
